Angry Birds Rio Review

The birds are back! After the original and the seasons, Rovio developer has now released a sequel called Rio. Available now in the App Store and got it.

What’s New?

At boot it shows that this is a completely new game in the series. The basic mechanics remain the same but everything else has changed. Including new menus, levels and enemies, among other things. Angry Bird now has a story, but (luckily!) are not very deep. Basically, the birds were happy and live life one day when they were captured and transported to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. You must help him escape to complete the challenges of the curtain. The first level is about helping fellow birds to escape from their cages. Once achieved (30 levels), the game tells you who managed to escape and are now flying in the jungle of Brazil, where he will meet with evil monkeys (yay!).

Gameplay

As I said before the basic gameplay has not changed. In much the same birds are available and placed in the player once again. I like to give nicknames, such as red that I call “mr average” because they can not do much. And I think the yellow birds are Italian because they are passionate and fast. Anyway the new levels are fun, but also quite easy. I am a gambler and criticized angry birds through the levels in 2 hours tops.

Bird Mad River currently has 60 levels in more than two “scenes”, with more promised four scenes throughout the year. They are not currently available, however, what bothers me. Basically, developers said, yes we have not finished yet, but you can buy now and upgrade later. I hope this attitude does not become a beta test in the evolution of mobile gaming. Buyers now have to wait until May to reach the third world, which is two months from now! And the last level is not actually open until November.

Presentation

Storyboard style is fun and adds new depth to the game. Now what really makes sense to be in a forest and monkeys banging randomly. (Yes. ..)

Also improved the visual aspect. The background seem more dynamic and sharper looking. Along with the fantastic new animations, Angry River Birds of a real audience for mobile games.

Conclusion

Bird Mad River is a great game. This is not a great reform, but not necessary. Rovio has delivered exactly how angry bird players are looking for: more content. It is a pity that it is offering 1.3 of the game now and the rest in a period of eight (!) Months, a little patience is advised. Still highly recommended.
