The first birthday is a very special mile stone. Most importantly for the parents, who are usually celebrating completing the first year with their sanity intact! If you’re looking for 1st birthday cake designs, then I may just have a few ideas for you…
Your baby won’t remember his first birthday cake, but he will treasure the photographs for many years to come, and they will become an important part of the family photo album in the future. Therefore a cake that looks good is more important than taste!
Here are some 1st birthday cake ideas for you to consider.
Buy, beg or borrow a cake tin in the shape of a number 1. Bake your cake and cover it in white roll out icing. The decorate in the colours of your choice. Typically pink for a girl or blue for a boy. You can write their name on the cake.
I love the idea of a teddy bear theme for a 1st birthday idea. You can buy cake pans in the shape of a teddy bear, or you could decorate a round cake with a smiley teddy bear face.
3 cakes cut into squares and decorated to look like A, B, C bricks, stacked on top of each other in different colours is cute.
If you’re good with sugar past or marzipan, you can make so cute animal figurines to top your cake. You can also buy these ready made on line. With a few flowers around them, they can look marvellous.
