What is the deal with movies emoticons? What are their justifiability in our every day life? Well, as it happens, the eligibility of the emoticons is close to as full-fledged as the films themselves.
Movies have made themselves a deeply juxtaposed element of life that people actually recognize one another by the kind of movie that they like. Some movies even carry off the height of iconic reference that they draw in a cult following. Take Star Wars, The Matrix, Harry Potter or Batman.
People identify with the story or maybe with the people in the story. They use the relation in daily talk, on the Net and offline. They use pictures from movies as icons that double for themselves online or use the movies emoticons when conversations go into pop culture.
This type of conversation can be found anywhere online. Forums, blog comments or private chats are usually filled with people trading views. Things can get heated though and emoticons are some of the best way to tame the fire, so to speak. Talk using emoticons is taken as solely that, discussion. Not argument, not patronizing. On paper it may sound unusual that cartoon-like icons can create such result but to forums’ members it is the reality, the way things go.
Consider this sample case. A forum member you hardly know is bewildered by what you are saying. You could apologize and then add a Morpheus logo from your movies emoticons group. He or she will relax and laugh and ask you for matters you have to describe. Imagine how unpleasant it could be if you insist on trying to describe and confusing your chat mate even more. You will likely cease talking at some point, frustrated with each other and never talk anymore.
Movies emoticons are also one of the fastest way to spot fellow movie fans. Put on the Spidey emoticon as the avatar of your social networking sites and observe how fast you’ll find people who also like the awkward, geeky Peter Parker.
